CLEAN & CLEAR® recognised as a top LGBT+ inclusive brand
CLEAN & CLEAR® has been recognised by The British LGBT Awards as a Top 10 Brand in 2021. The Awards celebrate individuals and organisations forging the way towards an even more inclusive society for LGBT+ people, and in this category, the most forward-thinking and LGBT+ inclusive brands or marketing campaigns are showcased. CLEAN&CLEAR® was commended for: “proudly championing the LGBT+ community in partnership with leading UK retailers and LGBT+ personalities.”
Anthony Dunn, Open&Out UK Co-Lead, explains how CLEAN&CLEAR® has been championing the LGBT+ community:
"As a teen skincare expert, the CLEAN & CLEAR® team recognised the responsibility to celebrate and positively depict the diversity of the consumers we serve. During 2019 and 2020, the team dedicated its marketing efforts to the Pride campaign, under the inclusive banner ‘Be proud of the skin you’re in’.
The 2020 campaign, which went ahead despite in-person Pride events being cancelled, involved a partnership with local retailers Tesco and Boots. The campaign featured colourful Pride display units in stores and a donation to akt - a UK charity that tackles the significant issue of LGBT+ youth homelessness – to fund a Youth Space for vulnerable young people, including those significantly affected by challenging home environments during the pandemic.
To date, CLEAN&CLEAR® has donated a total of £50,000 to akt, with continued support planned for 2021.
