Sam Whiting

Sam Whiting is the General Manager UK/IRE for Johnson & Johnson Surgical Vision.

In her role, Sam leads the implementation and development of the UK/IRE business plan to ensure delivery of revenue, market share and profit targets, with responsibility for the surgical businesses P&L. The role has direct and indirect responsibility for multiple functions (sales, marketing, business analytics with dotted line finance, professional affairs and customer service). As a leader within her organisation Sam’s role is to motivate, inspire and develop others to ensure delivery of short-term goals with longer term strategies ensuring continual focus on our customer.

Sam joined Johnson & Johnson in 1997 as a graduate, over the last 20+ years she has progressed through a variety of sales, commercial and marketing roles across DePuy Synthes at both a regional and in-country level. In 2012, she was appointed as the Sales Director for the joint reconstruction business and over the following 5 years continued to progress through several leadership positions implementing key strategies that delivered profitable market share growth and organisational transformation. In 2018, Sam led the global integration of a recent acquisition where she executed the commercialisation and integration of the Sterile Tube packaging platform across EMEA, ASPAC and the US.

With over 20+ years of medical device experience Sam has a proven track record of financial delivery, drives a strong sense of team spirit, and is focused on delivering solutions that create value for our customers and patients.
